The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (also referred to as IIM Lucknow or IIML), was established in 1984, by the Government of India, as a national level school of excellence in management science. It was the fourth Indian Institute of Management to be established in India after IIM Calcutta, IIM Ahmedabad, and IIM Bangalore. It is situated at the outskirts of the historic and culturally rich city of Lucknow.
It is considered one of the premiere B schools in India. Over 240,000 people apply for IIML through the Common Aptitude Test each year for roughly 300 seats. Over the years, it has created a niche for itself in the areas of marketing, consulting and of late, finance.

IIM Lucknow is the fourth IIM established in 1984. The school is known for it's rigorous academic schedule thus earning the moniker "Hell" for the emphasis attached to academic depth.
The diversity of options in IIML’s curriculum is complemented by a breadth of activities outside the classroom. Every student finds exhaustive opportunities to participate in and contribute to a variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. We have about 14 committees covering the breadth of all conceivable activities from Market Research Fairs (INDEX) to Debating and Quizzing clubs.
The School's Fest - MANFEST organized with a budget of over 96 Lakhs is easily the biggest B School fest in India.
The 3000 plus strong network of the alumni, its ambassadors, spread all over the globe, holding leading positions in industry and academia alike and include the head of JP Morgan, senior partners at top consultancies et al
